Database Settings

The Database settings are displayed by selecting 'Database>Settings and Source Folders'.

The settings of the currently open database are displayed:

Access Password (Registered Version only)

If desired, you can enable the password on start-up/open option and enter your password.  This function limits access to the current database, meaning that without a password it cannot be accessed by Smart Pix or any other database application.  Do not forget your password!

By default if a user opens a database and does not know the correct password, Smart Pix will still run but will not open the database, i.e. they can still use the 'Folders' and 'Favorites' modes or choose to open a different database.  If you would prefer that other users cannot run Smart Pix at all unless they know your password then you should check this item.  Then as long as you have specified that your default database requires a password then, on starting, users Smart Pix will be prompted for a password and the application will close if they cannot supply it.

Other

If you want to prevent editing of the current database you can check the read-only setting.  You will need to specify a password (this is not related to the access password above) that will be used whenever you want to write-enable the database.

If checked your keywords are listed beneath the group which you have assigned them to.  Otherwise they are displayed in a single long lists.  You can also change this option by right-clicking any keyword grid.

Click this option to change the storage method for all of the files referenced by your database.
